    Chinchilla emergency

Use the forum search function to search for "burrito". It will give you tips as how to safely restrain your chin for force feeding. He needs force feeding immediately. Good luck xxxx

Sinus infection; 10 days have passed; progress has seemed to level off.

Is she getting syringe fed Critical Care? Are you giving her probiotics to counteract the effect of the antibiotics on her gut? Did the vet get a swab of the bacteria for culturing? That would ensure it is not resistant to the antibiotics. Are you weighing her daily? Or at least every two...

Could use some help sexing a kit

I think a boy too... but again, I'm neither an expert, nor a breeder, so hopefully someone more experienced will chime in!

    Mounting/Fur Pulling

Sounds like they are coming into sexual maturity, and are trying to sort out who is dominant. I guess so long as they're not fighting it's okay, but if there is any future evidence of fighting, then you will have to separate them immediately, and possibly permanently.

    chinchilla hair loss

My Rosey used to chew straight lines down her flanks towards her tail. Dunno how she got them so perfect. She started when my other chin got sick, but she stopped later on of her own accord. Occasionally she will do it again... always in the straight rows, and sometimes the tip of her tail...

    Chin is Sick

Get some Critical Care and start syringe feeding him, plus get another vet opinion ASAP.

    Baby chinchilla is having seizures

Not to mention, chins will chew and eat literally ANYTHING. How long before she gets a blockage from eating something she shouldn't? Or poisoned? Or electrocuted from biting a wire? Chins NEED cages, for their own safety. They should only be let out in a properly chin-proofed room, and even...

    white teeth/ constant mouth movement

What are you feeding her? She could be calcium deficient, depending on her diet. Not sure about the constant movement. Is she tooth grinding? Making any odd noises?

    Playtime

Stacie, Amethyst and Shenanigans have done an amazing job of explaining all this. They know their stuff, and I really hope you listen to all their good advice. Get a bigger cage. The bigger, the better.

    Critical Care Help/ Gi stasis

It will take a while for his gut flora to repopulate and stabilise. Not sure how long, but his poops should return to normal eventually. So long as he's still eating and drinking normally, and he's still pooping with usual frequency, then I wouldn't worry too much about poop size. If the poops...

    A few questions

You can take away a chin's pellets for a day or two, but this is usually only done if a chin has a wetter/softer poop than usual. A hay only diet means the chin eats a lot more fibre. Ummm I don't think you can "overdo" probiotics, although if a chin is perfectly healthy, then you are probably...

    Poop

Is she behaving any differently? Has her eating changed? How have her poops been since then? I'm not sure I'd rush off to a vet based solely on what you've described. I'd just stop treats for a while and feed only hay and pellets, and monitor her food/water intake as well as her poops from then...

    Overly Feisty Chin

Yep, kd pine planking (untreated) is all that has ever worked for me. My girls were always way too stubborn to be trained!

Chinchilla do not want to grain her teeth

I think Op means the chin is not using the chew toys to wear down its teeth. Maybe you could try giving new chew toys? And more varied types? Like offer pumice, and different types of wood. Maybe some cholla or lava triangles/ledges?

    Chins ears

One of my chins had a small notch out of her ear that was apparently done by either her mother or one of her siblings. It never filled in: just healed around the edges. The notch was permanent, but didn't affect her in any way.

    Chinchillas- Best in pairs?

I've had three girls, and they all hated each other, thus shattering my dreams of a happy snuggly herd! My three girls were all perfectly happy on their own... like what Amethyst said, it totally depends on each chin's own personality.
