    M.C.B.A. Michigan Show 2012, Albion, MI, Jan 28, 2012

Would anyone be coming from eastern Ohio, Penn, NY, etc & be able to bring me Blue Seal rabbit food? The nearest dealer to me is over 3 hour drive into Ohio. I'd PayPal you the cost of the feed + extra for the trouble of picking it up. (I need Blue Seal Show Hutch Deluxe, extruded rabbit food)...

WI MCBA & ECBC Spring seminar

I didnt want to get my hopes up too much, just in case work schedule changed at the last minute. But the other gals have it all covered, and I'll be leaving tomorrow morning. Yay for road trips (lol) Look forward to meeting everybody soon! ~Barb~

    Trying to Find this Article

I know this post is from quite awhile ago - but I found a library that has a copy of what you're looking for - that is of course, if you havent found it already. On the Small Animal Publications page, its article #99: http://www.aht.org.uk/education_publicationssa83.html It says on their...

WI MCBA & ECBC Spring seminar

I'm waiting to get a copy of my work schedule - I asked for that weekend off, but its never guaranteed until the schedule is posted. I'm fairly new to breeding and really looking forward to learning quite a bit from the discussions :) ~Barb~

Its almost directly across the street from Denny's Restaurant. Hoping to head out there first thing in the morning :) ~Barb~

    2010 MCBA Michigan Show

At the few shows I've been to, there's typically only 1 or 2 tables of things for sale. But there's also a raffle where you can win items. Its only $1/ticket to enter so even if you dont win anything, you arent really out much. I asked for the day off work months ago, I just hope the weather...

    Tree Question

You dont want it to have been sprayed with anything. You wouldnt want your chinchillas eating the bark and consuming chemicals of any kind, now would you? That includes pesticides, fungicides, and any other chemicals that you could imagine. I wouldnt take wood from a tree that has been sprayed...

    Are kiwi vines safe?

Does anybody know if chins can have kiwi wood? I have a northern variety that can survive even Maine winters (where my plants originally came from) but the fruit is supposedly the same - nutritionally - as normal kiwi like you buy in the grocery store. It even comes from the same plant genus...

    changing coat

As described, they 'shed out' their old coat as the new one grows in. Technically its referred to as Priming. Tho I have been told some ranchers keep their barns pretty cold, because they feel it makes for a thicker coat. So its still possible your chin's fur is getting thicker as the weather...

    confused

Am I reading your last most to mean the kit is in a cage by itself? It should be with mom. Baby chinchillas are born fully furred, eyes open, and running around the cage within minutes. Just because its running around doesnt mean its ready to be on its own. Hopefully I misunderstood your post...

    2009 MCBA Ohio Claim Show

Will anybody there have dust for sale? I need a bag each of Blue Cloud & Blue Sparkle, and a friend coming with me will need a bag of Blue Cloud as well. By the way - where would I find out more about the prison? My boyfriend is pretty interested in going. Thanks ~Barb~

Where do you get PVC tube Big enough

In the center they are still 4" - I had thought the same thing at first too. Ah well - I'll be going near a Lowes later this evening. I'll see if they can help me. Did you manage to find PVC for your own chins? (I honestly didnt mean to take over your thread, sorry about that) ~Barb~

    Question: Sick

I hope your lil guy was treated & is starting to improve. As a note in case the food runs low again in the future - just offer him lots of extra hay. He'll be fine on a hay-only diet for a day or two, instead of upsetting his tummy with a drastic change in pellets. Also - when switching foods -...

    Wire

If your chins are chewers tho - be careful of using copper. If its very thickly plated, I would assume it'd be alright, but if its just a thin coating, it wouldnt take much to chew into it. Electric fence wiring is solid, no copper to it at all. Just thought I'd mention that :) Bonnie - sorry I...

    Wire

Best place I've found wire is TSC - its the wire made for electric fence. It comes in different thicknesses, and its sold by the foot, or by the spool (in HUGE lengths that would last most pet owners an eternity). Snap links can be found on Ebay from bird toy suppliers. ~Barb~

    Ohio Claim Show

Thank You! I was wondering the same thing, as I have to request time off work at least 2 months in advance. I'll be putting in my time-off request tomorrow :) ~Barb~

Where do you get PVC tube Big enough

I've been to 3 Home Depot stores in 3 different counties - the largest size they have is 4" and I'd rather not take the chance of my large breeder gals getting stuck when they're pregnant. The 4" works fine for my pets & most of the rescue chins, was just hoping to find something larger for the...

    Growling?

You said you just got her - give her time to get used to the idea of a new home. If someone boxed you up, shipped you to a foreign country, put you into a strange home with people whom you've never met before - would you be acting like your normal self when you're sitting at home? Give some...

Where do you get PVC tube Big enough

When I went to Home Depot all they had was 4" wide PVC, which my chubbier gals would probably get stuck in. I asked specifically for 6" or larger, and was told to find a commercial plumbing retailer, because HD doesnt carry anything past 4" Havent gotten a chance to look at Lowes yet tho...

    Anyone tried resin casting jewelry?

I've played around with epoxy to make custom charms & photo jewelry, but havent been able to find a decent supplier for resin compounds yet. None of the craft stores within an hour drive carry it, and anywhere I can find it online charges an arm & a leg for shipping. If you find a decent resin...
