    Ticks??

I've searched & it seems like for every person that says that ticks aren't a problem for chins there is another that says they are. I personally had never seen a tick until a few months ago on one of my dogs. I am about to treat all 3 of my dogs with K-9 advantix II and was wondering if I...

What do you use to wipe down your cages/Bass pans??

Hey guys!! Long time no post!! I have always used "Anywhere spray" from clorox to wipe down my pans, well, for some reason I can no longer find it in my local stores... I know some of you use Nature's Miracle, if so what is the EXACT name on the bottle, they make BUNCHES of pet sprays... I...

    My Chin Barn...

I hadn't thought about using tile-board, I was going to tile or "sticky tile" behind all of my cages for easy wiping. What makes the tile-board a pain in the butt???

pics of my 2 chins, day 1 observation and a ??

I am not a breeder nor a color expert but I would say that the white one is a mosaic, what kind of dust are you using/going to use?? They look like the 2 newbies I just took in yesterday, they were using the pet store dust that made them look WORSE!! I use blue cloud, some use blue sparkle & I...

    Can chins get MRSA??

My favorite daytime show, "The Doctor's" has been replaced with "Dr.Oz" BUT lucky for me, I am a complete night owl and after cage cleanings & playtimes I can watch "The Doctor's" a 3 AM here in New Orleans. :dance3: So they just had a segment on Staph infections & the resistant strain of MRSA...

How much does your chin weight?

My smallest is my only Male, Mr. Chester has a VERY small frame and at his heaviest has been 485 grams, he is approximately 3 years old. The quickest little chin I have ever seen!! My Heaviest is Chillie, she hoovers around 1000 grams. She is approximately 4 years old & has a HUGE frame, kind...

    Teeth Problems.

Lily NEVER drooled so I do not have experience with drooling, but if your baby is "pouting" they are in pain. I had Lily on Metacam for pain. Here is the picture of Lily's removed incisors... The short one was not broken, that was the full length of that tooth...

    Teeth Problems.

I personally WOULD NOT have the incisors removed unless you KNOW her molars are normal & can get x-rays to KNOW that there isn't root elongation. I just had the incisors removed on one of my girls & was reassured that her roots weren't "bad" well, long & emotional story short, I had to put her...

Already needing the A/C for the chin...

I can count on one hand how many times I turned my heater on this winter... I keep my air on 69, always!! I like it & the chins seem to as well!! Luckily my family business is A/C & Heating wholesale, so if ever in a pinch, I am quickly back up and running!!:wink2:

finally bought a gram scale and weighed everyone

I am glad it isn't an issue anymore for you, I just see the poor girl running the local glider rescue trying to get them where they need to be with her constant post on Craigs lists... I just can't understand why your would put them on CL if she is CONSTANTLY posting about gliders... I hope...

finally bought a gram scale and weighed everyone

You gave the gliders to rescue?? I saw them on Craigslist a handful of times & was kind of confused as to why you were getting rid of them so soon.

Vets Advice vs EXPERIENCED owners advice?

I recently heard this analogy... Say we all had a Mustang (car) everyone is going to have different experiences, input & knowledge that could or could not help our fellow mustang enthusiast. Mechanics are still needed, you just have to find the right one you can trust & depend on.

    Arlington TX - CHIN PICS

Jack Jack is the chin that my boyfriend fell in love with the night they arrived in NOLA, he had to hold him (he thought he was a she) while we got a cage ready, he just snuggled in the crease of his arm. It was funny to see a grown man melt then ask me like a child "What is one more? Look how...

Now THAT's a "Get the **** Out" Moment.

I had to laugh as the girl in the "expert village" video said "the eat pellets & hay" then the chinnie starts eating her mic!! LOL!!

    Front teeth removal???

Everything is starting to sink in. You do not sound insensitive. I can see that Lily is uncomfortable & it is breaking my heart. I am waiting to talk to Rick (NOLA CHINS) about her when he is done with the railroad (I got Lily from him) I think he is for the "procedure" but the more that I...
