What do you use to block escape routes?

We used two tension baby gates, one above the other. You would have to keep something along the bottom because they can squeeze underneath.

Now i no why they were around 60% off...

The last Ferret Nation I got was smashed in the mail - unuseable. I contacted the company and they replaced the broken parts for free. They have too-notch customer service.

Grooming my eyelashes and giving kisses!

My girls love grooming my husband's mustache and eyebrows. They must think he is very bad at keeping himself clean haha. :)

    powdering pellets

You may want to bring them to the vet just to make sure. My girls leave a lot of powder behind as well, but I have been assured after multiple vet visits that their teeth are fine. What pellets do you use? I use Maizuri. It seems it's only the latest batch that has been as powdery for me, so it...

    Shopping Problem?

Fleece. I just can't pass up fleece with a cute pattern. I just bought a whole bunch today because Joann Fabric was having a 50% off sale. >.<

What are your chin's crazy nicknames

I call Drucilla "Druzillady" or "Droozles" and I call Beatrice "Beabulls" or "Mrs.Beazilly" or "Beazillybub" depending on my mood.

How far is reasonable to travel to a vet?

I drive an hour to get to the vet, but then again, I'm from the middle of nowhere, so that's a short jaunt for me.

    Fleece Item Question

I have never made a house, but I make my own liners. I use a whip stitch on the hole after I turn them inside out. I also make mine extra-long and then fold the bit with threads showing under because I am extra paranoid haha.

Old chin owner with a new chin issue

When I first got one of my chins, she would not let me touch her, but she would allow me to transfer her to the safe play area via travel carrier. You may try that with your new girl. Of course, since she's still so wild, I don't think it would be a good idea to introduce your current chin to...

    The Weirdest Thread

Makes sense that the dust would be the culprit - chins use it to keep moisture down, after all. I have always had non allergic rhinitis, so when I give my girls a bath, I leave the room and let the air purifier on to suck up any overspray. Seems to help. Just don't leave them alone for more than...

    Horribly Aggressive Chin Behavior, HELP

Ticklechin, that explains a lot. One of my girls acts a lot like this, and though she does not have strange-looking or cloudy eyes, I have long guessed that she has low vision. Interesting to know that her vision and behavior may be linked. Is there any way to try to rehabilitate the behavior of...

    Ben hasn't been pooping

Personally, I would try to keep doing what you are doing, make him comfortable, and wait until the exotic gets in at 6, but certainly bring him in then.

Chinnie Buddies-Do they work for you?

My chin sits on hers to eat her hay. Otherwise, she drags it around the cage by its tail like a little kid with its favorite stuffed animal. It's cute. She never sleeps with it, though.

    Making ledges, hanger bolts.

I got mine at Lowe's. I didn't know where to find them, so I had an associate help me. Most important thing I discovered - they don't sell the tool to attach them in the store - I got mine off Amazon. I highly recommend getting one because using the lock-nut method is a pain in the patoot after...

    2 chins, 2 different tudes

My girls are the same. One is a little lump and refuses to move for anything, the other is a little she-devil who flies around her cage like she's on adrenaline pills. She has started to calm a little lately and allows me to touch her without boxing with me, so perhaps it was teen hormones...

    Chinchilla "honking" at night

Sounds like the second time he may have been afraid of the storm, and the first time, he may have just wanted to run or make sure you were ok. Like mgonya, I also have a female who honks almost every night. She sounds like a little squeeze toy. I am also convinced she does this when she gets...
