Cary IL,
I got beyond spoiled by Marshall
fleece teapot house set for the chinchillas, a fleece house. I have a tube and 2 hammocks on the way. He gave me comfy pjs and enough toys for each chinchilla (70 chinnies) and enough hanging toys for 16 of the 18 cages. then a GPS and a new ipod and a whole lot of yummy tea. I am a total tea freak. I also got a huge shopvac for the chinchilla room It is the biggest they make I could suck up a cat with the thing!

my parents got me a cookie jar with a chinchilla on it. New flannel sheets for our king bed and a vacum for the house. And a bunch of yummy goodies. My inlaws got me some tea, the cd I wanted and a bunch of other nice goodies. I made out like a bandit this year

i did get a vacuum from my dad since when he was at my house he was "appalled" at the poop on the floor! lol and lots of other nice things from my parents.
sadly, my fiance and i have not even had time to exchange...............we don't have our kids this weekend, so we are going to celebrate tonight!

I got new fuzzy slippers and Rhiannon got me a beautiful photo album and loaded it with pictures. :)

Glad someone was able to have a great Christmas this year... unemployment doesn't play nice for "making out like a bandit." I got my mom and dad to pay for my health insurance for next year for which I am very thankful. Also thankful for many dear friends and family who found it within their heart to help me with presents for Pierce. No 9 yr old deserves not to have a Christmas because you don't have $$.

I hear you amanda, mine helped me get a furnace this year and I am beyond happy to have a working heater and air conditioner!

I will spend from the 22nd of Dec to the 2nd of Jan petsitting to make a little extra. Been trimming horses too. I did one today that made me feel horrible it was in such bad shape... but you do what you've got to do.

I'm glad Pierce had a good Christmas! Kids really look forward to it, a lot of times I go just to watch them and the expressions they get!

I'm thinking you were the most blessed of al, Al. Dear friends have helped me through many, many a tight situation throughout the course of my life not the least of which was the death of my Mother and my husband abandoning his family six months later. I never join secret Santa here on CnH because I just can't afford it. :cry3:

Most of my Christmas enjoyment came from watching my g'daughter have a wonderful Christmas. It seems like 3 1/2 is almost an ideal age. But I must say I did get a printer for my computer from my daughter, some Bob Dylan cd's from my youngest son and my oldest son took me out to dinner and to see Bob Dylan in October. I bought myself (and wrapped) the fuzziest pink robe. It zips rather than ties. I LOVE it. I haven't had a printer for my computer for a couple years now and my youngest son would type his papers for college on our computer then go to school early to print it off on the computers at school.

We gave our son (15) Jeremy our 95 Tercel. A deer ran into it a couple years ago, and it has just been sitting. It needs a radiator and headlight, but Jeremy is becoming quite the mechanic and he will fix it up. We also gave him the gift of driving school, it is required if you want to drive before 17 and unfortunately rather expensive ($220) esp since we are both on unemployment. Some of you may remember I had to take the 2 chins to the E-vet the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I was sitting in the exam room going through the sales receipts in my purse figuring out what all I could return to pay for this...the vet tech came in and I explained why I had receipts on the exam table. BTW the bill was only $200 for both chins and meds! I thought no more about it until the vet office called a few days later and said they wanted to help with our Christmas. They sent Jeremy a $50 Wal-mart giftcard!! I got my husband I-tunes giftcard and Starbucks. I got a Ann Rule book, a beautiful parrot puzzle and Glenn is getting me the flying saucer from Kate (Midwest Exotics). Oh, and I won $100 at the casino from just $5 on Christmas.

Well I am also on Unemployment so I understand . My 3 kids got just enough to make them happy and thier school has a Wonderful Secret Santa program, One of the more prominate familys in town have no children sooooo they donate to the schools. My kids got me a GIANT cup for my coffee, smart a**es it hold almost a gallon of the "nectar of the GODS" My friends are in the some boat as me so I was unable to get anymore help than that. It appears "I make too much money"????? My kids and I just had a bunch of fun playing card games and making snacks and just being together and not doing any chores(except feed, water, play with the animals).

Edgar the chinchilla was our Christmas present even if he arrived a little early. Edgar made out like a bandit as we got him lots of toys, a play pen and a pet carrier. We also got a few gift cards and my mom's wonderful yearly gift of pajamas for me and a really nice jacket for my husband with a little spending money for each of us.

I think my favorite Christmas gift was a wonderful conversation with my niece. It was really nice to see her really smile and feel loved. Moments like that make me the happiest.

It sounds like you have a wonderful outlook on life and I LOVE that you wrapped a fuzzy pink robe for yourself. You deserve it!

My parents gave me a paid off cell phone bill. My boyfriend got me a Wii game, a set of polyhedral dice, and the 2010 Chins n' Hedgies calendar. His parents gave me a Kohl's gift card (I can have Jeans that FIT again!), a beautiful hand-made teddy bear, and a couple of Bath and Body Works shower products. His grandma and grandpa also went the Bath and Body Works route, and gave me a pretty quilted picture frame as well. All in all, HUGE Christmas for me. The line between my family and Welfare has usually been about the cost of a tank of gas, so to be bombarded with so much stuff was actually a little uncomfortable for me.

I hear ya guys on crappy Christmases. My family didn't have any Christmas at all, really(though I made sure my sisters all had something to open), all the gifts I got came from Keith and his family....

I got 2 pairs of those furry socks, one from Keith's sister and another from her sister-in-law (Keith's family is really close with Candi's husband's family), a necklace/earring set (which I feel bad cuz I hate wearing jewelry, so I'm never going to wear it except for tomorrow at a Christmas party which I was told I HAVE to wear it at), a candle set which I can't burn because of the furballs in my room, so I'll be saving that til Keith and I get our own place... And a Bella... Keith snuck around with Mishalaa to bring the little BV girlie home to me...

I couldn't care less I got so little in gifts, though. I'd much rather give than get.

I got basically everything I had mentioned wanting throughout the year.

Jack Lalanne juicer (mom)
Schwinn bicycle (hubby)
Sterling silver bracelet (sister in law)
Cookie cutters (mom)
George Foreman quesadilla maker (friend)

And if all things go to plan, my best friend may be having her baby tomorrow. :D She's been contracting for the past 6 hours. Keep your fingers crossed!

Christmas was tough here as well w/ the divorce and the few family members I have all on social security or out of work.
But what I got for christmas was the best thing I could have received. I got to spend it with my grandma and she made me a gorgeous beanie.

here we are with our beanies on (she made one for herself too since she lost her hair thru chemo)

That is an awesome picture Cindy, and what Christmas is all about. :)

What I got for Christmas was the joy of watching my two boys unwrapping all their gifts, with a look of pure joy on their faces, and then having them sum up the day as their best Christmas ever. I got some nice gifts from my hubby and family, but at this stage of my life, Christmas is for my boys and I take so much pleasure in making the day magical for them. Now, if I could just grow a money tree to pay off my huge expenses!!!
