Thanks Bostongirl! Laffy is recovering really well. His poops are lot bigger and his taking in water and pallets now. We are still feeding him CC 3 times a day but we noticed today that his weight dropped. Is this a post surgery symptom? His has been dropping weight since his surgery. ( from...

    Oblivious Chin

Hi piper! I think you should give your baby chin to get use to you. After all she have only been with you for only a week. :) Baby chins can't really react to commands much, even some adult chins do not really react to it too. So it really depends on the chinchilla temperament. And another...

Haha how funny!! Its really funny and weird to know where the poos will ended up with. There was once when I was preparing my final year exam with my friends, I brought lots of ref books out to study and when we were studying there was some poos in the book!

My new chinnys along with the first decent pictures of my original

It is good that they have you for their chin parent. The cage looks miserably small! It must be very hard for them to live at that cage for two years of their lives.

    Just don't know

Yup it sounds like testicles to me. Normally they will hide it inside. But if the temperate gets slightly warmer they will show it out. I read from somewhere it is to cool themselves down. Anyway is it true? (sorry to hijack your thread!) :)

I would observe her eating, poop and drinking. And most importantly her weight.

    Sleeping on his side?

Oh. All my 4 chins does it before. But of course they do not do it ALL the time.

    Sleeping on his side?

Don't worry! Most chins sleep by their side. Even with comfortable temperate my chins always lie on their side. And it always scares me because some of their posture are really scary! Unless if you spot red veins on their ears, which means it is getting very hot for them! As long as you observe...
