My females do this, but only when they are anxious for playtime. My male hasn't don't it (at least not that I can tell) Sometimes, the girls will just sit for periods of time with their mouths around the bars, not really chewing, but just gripping the bar between their teeth.

Annie and Gabbie snuggle together. Gabbie is usually the "Guardian", keeping one eye open, and her head over Annie's back. Dude has a pillow that he snuggles with, and most of the time he curls up on that, or else on top of his hide-away house. Ocassionally, he likes to flip his hide-away...

Of my three, Dude likes to have his belly rubbed, and will tolerate being held much better than Annie and Gabbie. The girls don't like being petted or cuddled very much at all. All three will perch on you, but if you go to hold them they hop away!
