    Do they like the dark?

One of my chins prefers the dark MUCH more than the other. As soon as the lights go out at night, he runs on his wheel with what can only be described as a huge smile on his face.

    My DIY Valentine's gift

My husband's birthday falls on the 14th of February, so we deem the 15th as our Valentine's Day. Just thought I'd share the DIY calendar I made of our sweet pup, Kona, for him to enjoy all year long. (Our little girl Kona is more lovingly referred to as 'Kone' in our household, hence the...

    Stray chicken

You're absolutely right - what I'm most concerned about is Norma's diet. You have local bird connections?! Girl, I'm PMing you right now, thanks!

    Stray chicken

Good advice, thanks! I'll let you know if I'm successful in catching her. Should I feed her out of a bowl, or am I okay just scattering it across the dirt (flower beds) that I usually find her in?

    Stray chicken

You'd be surprised at Norma. This gal walks across our busy street ("road") as if she owns the place. Cars stop for her as she takes her time walking across. There's a Jeep for sale across the street that's been parked there forever whose hood she's taken a real liking to. She's a strange one.

    Stray chicken

Thanks for the advice! Finally tracked down a local bird feed store that sold cracked corn. Bought some, took it home, and threw some on the ground for the Norma, and she took to eating it right away. What a good (hungry) girl, she is.

    Stray chicken

There's a stray chicken in our neighborhood (mind you, I live in an urban area) that my husband and I have named Norma. I have no idea what she eats, but she hangs around the flower beds in front of our place all day. I'd like to purchase some feed for her, but I have NO clue about anything...

    First time Baytril user

Success! He took the Baytril just now and I fed him a rosehip immediately afterward to get rid of the taste. I'll keep my eye on him to make sure his appetite stays up. Thanks for the help!

    First time Baytril user

This upsets me. I don't know why he wasn't given Baytril at the vet's. Since it was my husband who took Godzilla in, I asked him if the doctor mentioned why he gave the little guy this injection rather than Baytril, and he says that the doctor said it was "for his infection." I'll be sure to...

    First time Baytril user

Baby boy Godzilla (and by baby, I mean my sweet little 4-year-old) came down with some kind of respiratory infection. :sick1: I noticed that his breathing was a bit labored and "wheezy" sounding, so we set up a vet appointment (Dr. Rosskopf at the Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital in Hawthorne...

    Kona, my forever puppy

Hey, I have the Canon XSi, which is the same model that you mentioned wanting (the 450D). I absolutely love the XSi, but I hear lots of great things about the Nikon line, as well, in case you were thinking of those. I've come to understand that while having a great camera body is important...

    Metal guard

You can purchase one here from ChinWorld, but the shipping on it may just eat up your wallet. I would recommend checking the classified ads, as there are often people who sell their old guards. That's how I bought my last Edstrom guard.

    Kona, my forever puppy

Just thought I'd share a few photos of my little one when my husband and I took our beach cruisers out for a ride last weekend. Kona's nearing 4 years old, but she still acts and looks like a puppy. (How tiring is it to sit in a bike basket that she has to yawn for the photo?)...

Gift suggestions needed for mom to be

I've read really great things about these nursing gowns that she can wear at the hospital, rather than wearing the paper-y ones they give you at the hospital.

    anyone purchase hay online recently?

I recently bought some hay from Kleenmama's and wasn't too pleased with it. I have to believe that it's due to the weather, as I've bought hay from her in the past that was great.
