How cool do you keep your chin room?

I like to keep our room around 60-65! Never over 70-72.

Do you think this is bad for my chinchilla at night?

Yeah the fan should be no problem, but like everyone said, as long as it's not blowing on the chin directly. I'm sure your chin might actually like the white noise! My chin does (: (I think)

is this ok. ? room for chinchilla

Well the temperature if prefect for a chin (never over 75°)! I think no windows is fine..you're actually never supposed to put a chin in direct sunlight. Maybe put a small light in there so it's not so depressing, or even a TV or radio and turn it on every once and awhile to get something...

    Soft water for chin?

I only give my chinchilla filtered water. I buy the big jugs at the grocery store. I think it's just the healthiest and really not too expensive.

    Chinchilla products website

I absolutely refuse to buy supplies from Pet Co. Or PetSmart, so I'm looking for a website with a good quality chin supplies? I'm looking to buy for sure a new bed and some new wood shelves, along with anything cool I would like to add to her cage. Previously I've bought from Chinworld.com and...

Man, this new Chinchilla is by far the most skittish I've ever seen!

I think a better plan would be to just sit in front of his cage. Talk to him or read something out loud to him. This way he will realize you aren't scary and aren't trying to hurt him. Also, trying to make him eat a treat out of your hand will gain trust.

    Chinchilla "honking" at night

Totally normal! My female chin does this all the time at night. Just trying to wake me up for either attention or playtime.

My chin is diggin' my hair??

So a few months ago my chin started loving my hair when it was wetish, but more damp. When I get ready on the floor or lay down after a shower, she jumps on my back and just loves to roll around on my damp hair (I obviously don't let her do it for very long cause of the wetness). She is just is...

What all should I know before getting a chin?

    1. Chinchillas need colder environments! Ideally around or under 70°. (Do not blow fans on them) 2. They poop like crazy, they end up all over my room. But they don't smell, just like little hard coffee beans. 3. Most Chins don't like to be held, but love chin, cheek and belly pets (: 4. They...

Not letting Chinchilla s out of the cage

My chin would go NUTS without getting out of her cage. She lives for it!! She gets at least an hour of out of cage time a day. On the rare occasions I don't have time to let her out she gets very angry. Also, her cage is well above average in size with lots to do in there. She's just a very...

dumbest thing your chin has ever done

My chin's old cage was about 2 feet high, so I would keep her dust bath on top of it and she would have no problem jumping up there to bathe. Well I just got her a new cage that's over four feet high. I put her bath on top of it and forgot to take it down during playtime. I caught her climbing...

    Potty trained?

My female chin is potty trained (: When I got her she wasn't taught how to be potty trained, but she would always pee in the same spot. I'm guessing that she did that for her own hygiene so there wasn't wet spots all over her cage when she ran around?? So what I did was just put a liter pan down...
