    Cherry Wood

I'm not sure either, but I know that pretty much any fruit trees with pits are not good. The only thing I can think of is that these pitted fruits have some cyanide and perhaps there's some concentration of it found in the wood?

Do you prefer sweet or smart chins?

Sesame is definitely one of those chins who's always plotting something. She's pretty cheeky, but can be sweet when she wants to be. I was hoping that she would mellow out a bit as she got older, but now she's 5 and that hasn't happened yet. I don't think it's going to happen.

    Northern Maryland Vet Recommendation

The Falls Road also has emergency vet services as well. Back in 2009 or 2010, we had a scare with Sesame involved her foot getting caught inbetween the pullout pan and the cage bottom. They handled it quite well with xrays, proper medication, etc. I would recommend them if you're in the...

Cremating a pet? Picking out an urn?

For my family, each beloved pet has been cremated and returned in a box. We buried each box under the various fruits trees in our backyard. In a way, their spirit is through the fruit trees when they blossom each year and bear fruit. I guess it's a concern if my family ever moved, but most...

    Fig wood?

I'm assuming processing it like any other type of wood? Scrub wash, boil and bake at low temp? This is good to know... I also have a lot of fig tree access, so I'll be trying it too. We have a fig tree too and it's growing quite well.

Toys your chin just won't touch

I originally voted that my chin hates loofa, but I think she's had a change of heart. Maybe her tastes changes as she gets older... One thing I can't get Sesame to take as a treat is a Cheerio. She will sniff it and then toss it away. I've even tried leaving it in her food bowl and elsewhere...

    Alternative to PVC and fleece

I also own the wooden tunnel from Chinaccessories as well that greychins has mentioned. It's well made and a nice alternative to the often seen PVC fleece tubes. I also second giving a look at Tanya's Fuzzie Kingdom tubes. I've bought various other goods from her and the fleece items are...

    beautiful wild swans!

Beautiful creatures! I don't think I've ever seen black ones in person either. Their beaks are a very startling color of red and white.

    spiteful Chin.?

If he's eating, drinking, and pooping fine, then you're probably witnessing the infamous chin attitude. Just keep to your daily routine/schedule and he'll get over it. Maybe some extra scritches might help too.

    Hope This Doesn't Sound Crazy....(URI)

It's always safer to be err on the side of caution. Perhaps using a face mask and stringent hand washing would be a good idea. Also, if you live with someone else, maybe enlist their help for the time being.

New Cage Planning, Plenty of Questions!

Not sure if your chin is a clumsy one (mine is a bit), but a few hammocks that act like safety net would help just in case your chin goes in a running frenzy, slips and falls off any of the ledges/shelves. Other than that, that's a really nice size for a chin!

    Would you buy this?

Awww it's cute! My only issue is that I prefer to keep my dry goods in those air-tight, snap-shut canisters.
