Good or bad to rearrange cage?

So I was thinking about rearranging some of the things in Hannah's cage. FN cage by the way. However, I didn't know if this was beneficial or not. Is it good to keep them stimulated by moving ledges etc or can they hurt themselves? Sometimes she runs laps like crazy in the middle of the night...

    Play pen? Will this work?

I am looking for another way to let Hannah play safely in our apartment. Has anyone used anything like this or know if it would work well for playtime? She would still be supervised but I'm hoping it is tall enough at 42"...

    Hannah drinks a lot

Hi friends. I've read that a chinchilla doesn't drink very much but Hannah seems to drive very often. She goes through her 6oz. (I think) water bottle in one day. Is this okay? The bottle is not leaking or anything, she just drinks that much. Didn't know if this was normal. Sent from my...

    Oh Hannah. ..

She chewed a hold in the seam of her hammock and climbed inside. Should I go for a pvc tube instead? Crazy chilla. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

    My chin ate a chair

Heard an odd chewing noise and went in to check Hannah. her cage is in the dining room and seems when we swept or something we must have scooted her fn cage too close to a chair. She chewed the back of the chair in several places where she could reach through the bars. Will it hurt her? It is a...

    noises while scratching

I've been trying to get to know how Hannah likes to be touched and scratched. She doesn't seem to like it under the chin or behind the ears much. However, the other day I started scratching her butt and instead of shying away she gets really still. But she will make these little chirpy or honky...

Did she do this on purpose?

I was out of town for a couple of days for thanksgiving but my husband has been here to care for Hannah. I ordered her a new bed from Chin Chic (which she loves and made her popcorn around when I gave it to her). Tonight I was sitting by her cage as I often do with the door open. I gave her a...

    my chin likes eyelashes?

My sweet little Hannah will often come to give me kisses when in her cage or when I am laying in the floor with her during supervised playtime. However, whenever she is near my face she will sometimes start to go after my eyelashes, she tries to nibble them. Obviously I don't let her, but why...

Please help! Hannah is acting strange

Okay friends, as a new chin Mom, I am freaking out. This is day 5 with Hannah and she is always friendly, bouncy, and seems chipper. She's been humping into my hands now and letting me touch her more. This morning I got up at 6am and went into the kitchen where Hannah is. I was in a hurry so I...

    Is she dehydrated?

I noticed that the glass water bottle I have for Hannah does not consistently give out water. I have to turn it upside down and then back and then she drinks from it like crazy. I was scared she was dehydrated so I took the top off of the bottle and just poured water free flow through the spout...

    First day home

First day home and Hannah seems to be settling in okay. Brought her home last night. My first chinchilla. At first she seemed skittish but then started jumping all over her ledges and checking stuff out. She is also a poop machine. Dang, I had no idea, lol. So this morning I opened the cage to...

    What are considered treats?

I am getting a 3 month old baby chin soon and I am getting everything together in her cage. I know they aren't supposed to have treats before 6 months of age. Are apple and pear wood etc. considered treats? I have a toy for her made from all different woods and I wasn't sure if she could have...

Hello from Texas. Going to be a first time chin Mommy

Hello friends! I am 26 and married with no kiddos yet with several pets, most of them being reptiles. I have problems with depression and since my husband works nights, I am often alone part of the week. I have decided that a furry companion would be great for me as I have had many species of...
