That's a really good point, and also why I keep my food in an air and water tight container. Keeps it super fresh, it smells like the day I bought it. :D

I seem to remember someone on here saying that peppermint (and mint leaves in general) have a tendency to increase a chin's appetite. I'm not sure how accurate that was, though.

Also another thing to be careful about with rabbits and chinchillas (not playing together, I just mean keeping them in the same airspace) involves a bacteria that resides in a rabbit's gut. It's natural and normal for them, but can really hurt a chinchilla and make them very sick. If anyone does...

I agree with Brenda. A good thing to have on hand for little nicks is called Blu Kote - they would sell it at Tractor Supply Company stores, or really any livestock/feed store. It looks like this. Please keep us updated.

A tube! I don't think there is such a thing as a chinchilla who doesn't love their tube.
