Great price for Ferret Nation / Critter Nation cages

The issue with the UPC is that forhappydogs.com is advertising the 182 model but the UPC is for the 142 model. Gives Petsmart the loophole they need to deny a pricematch. This is why many stores have their own unique model#/UPC for electronics. They advertise price matching but, know they...

    Chin sitting goes wrong

I'm glad I have a petsitter who can follow instructions. I worked with her for about 5 yrs though and she probably knows as much about chins as I do just from conversations at work. lol I also have large single chin cages with J feeders, 16 oz water bottles, and hay racks that are accessible...

    My new cage i built

Ladders are an accident waiting to happen no matter what angle or direction you place them. You could cut it into pieces for chewing but, that's about it.

Also, you underestimate the determination of a chin to chew things. That plastic pan is not as large as the cage below it. That means the bottom edge of that pan is exposed. ETA: My shelves are poplar too. I replace the "poo guard" edges every 4-6 months and entire shelf about once a year.

    My new cage i built

You misunderstood me. The issue isn't that he would walk on wire, it is that his foot can pass through the spacing of that floor and get stuck or broken. Cage floor spacing is usually 1/2" x 1/2" so, no danger of a leg falling through. Your spacing looks more like the long slat type similar to...

    My new cage i built

Your chin will still be able to chew the plastic from the bottom cage. Also, the metal grate in the middle cage looks like the type that has long spacing perfectly sized for chin feet/legs to fall through and get stuck/broken. I think you have a good concept but, I would take out the middle...

Toys your chin just won't touch

None of my chins like cholla. I always end up throwing it away. Any thing from the petstore, I wouldn't really know becuase, I don't buy it. One thing not listed is pine pieces. Plain or colored, they just don't care for them.

Does your chin use their hammock?

Pinball practically lives in her hammock! The others I occasionally catch using them or I find the evidence they leave behind.

    I need an answer quick!

I've done a 3 day move with 8 chins and 3 cats and I'm about to do it again. The carriers were on the seat of the moving van with me. Cats and other people in our suv. I made sure they had good airflow but, blocked from direct sun. I also have a digital thermometer that shows temp and...

    Get out of jail faces

crushinator, your Petunia picture makes me miss a chin I just rehomed last Sat. Her name was also Petunia (as in Pig) for her tightly curled tail. Looks like your girl has that same feature. Is the name for the same reason?

    Moving with my babies....Needing opinions!

It isn't really the manager I'd be worried about. My experience is that neighbors are nosey. Most of the apartments that area seem to be very large buildings so, I tend to think that someone is going to notice a cage moving in and wonder why.

    Moving with my babies....Needing opinions!

You may already know this but, something else to think about is the heat. You will need to let the AC run to cool the car before you "pack" the chins. I recommend buying a digital thermometer if you don't already have one to make sure you maintain a safe temperature. I have to wonder, how are...

    baby proof cages

When you add wire to the outside you have to be sure to attach it in enough places so, they can't squeeze through and get between the cage wire and the additional wire. Your little one may have been escaping that way. And yeah, I learned the lesson about covering the top with my first...
