I was wondering if there was any benefit in giving oat hay?

I'm currently giving a mix of Timothy and Orchard to my chins. Oxbow products. But I love to give them botanical and brome once to thrice a week as a 'treat' as they eat more hay. I got oat hay for my last order and they love it. I was just not quite sure the way I should treat that type of hay. As a treat like botanical? The hay looks and feels more like botanical as the strands are shorter and flat.

Yeah, there is actually, it helps wear down teeth. And a lot of chins really like oat hay. :D

Yeah, it is good for their teeth since it's a coarser hay and they work more at chewing it. I feed it occasionally as well since my girls like it.

Yeah I find some of my chins don't like the oat hay either. Though since the majority do, I still buy it in small bags and feed it as a "treat" along with brome hay which they generally like more.
