So i just moved and I was in need of a new supplier, but I walked into a petstore today and saw they supplied chinchilla food. It's not my usual Mazuri but I might need to switch.

Has anyone Heard of Chinchilla Healthy Diet or maybe it was healthy choice?

It costs a lot less, and it is actually pellets and not something mixed with something else.

Is this a safe brand?

Get a list of the ingredients and post them. I've never heard of it.

Was it Healthy Select? That's the only brand I can find online with "healthy" as the main part of the name. If that's the one you're talking about, no it isn't a good diet. While it does contain some herbs that could be okay in a chinchilla-formulated treat/supplement, it has dried apples, cranberries, and carrots... and you know chinnie is going to prefer these treats over the pellets!

Ingredients: Dried alfalfa meal, wheat middlings, dehulled soybean meal, ground oat groats, soybean hulls, cane molasses, dried beet pulp, dried chamomile flower, chopped alfalfa hay, chopped timothy hay, pepitas, calcium carbonate, heat-processed soybeans, heat-processed barley, rolled oats, dicalcium phosphate, ground flaxseed, dried yeast, pine cones, dried carrots, dried apple, vegetable oil, salt, dried rose hips, leeks, dried cranberry, torula dried yeast, barley, dried parsley, dried hibiscus flower, red clover tops, ground dandelion leaf, ground raspberry leaf, ground peppermint leaf, dried bay leaves, dried calendula flower, dried rose petals, l-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), dried saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation product, yucca schidigera extract, dried lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried lactobacillus casei fermentation product, dried bifidobacterium bifidum fermentation product, dried aspergillus oryzae fermentation product, choline chloride, magnesium oxide, potassium sulfate, magnesium sulfate, vitamin A supplement, vitamin E supplement, vitamin D3 supplement, niacin supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin supplement, d-calcium pantothenate, menadione dimethylpyrimidinol bisulfite (source of vitamin K activity), biotin, folic acid, thiamine mononitrate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, manganese sulfate, copper sulfate, ethylenediamine dihydriodide, cobalt sulfate, anise oil, sodium selenite.

Azn, that doesn't look like the ingrediants that were on the back of this one. I will have to go back and make a list of ingrediants.

It was soley pellets, no mixed stuff in it.

But I will check it!

Edit: I can tell you it's in a Pet Valu pet store. [I don't like petco or petsmart] And now I am POSITIVE it's not Healthy Select.
