I would separate them and start the bonding process over. I've had this happen before too. Cagemates seem perfectly fine and well-bonded, then one day they turn on each other.

How is your kit doing? As mentioned, the easiest way to know for sure is to weigh her. Keep an eye on her food dish and water bottle. If she's eating and drinking, I'm sure she'll be okay :) I hope she's doing well for you!

I'm sorry to hear that you're getting out of breeding :( I would be interested in a few as I'm looking to improve ...specifically my violets, possibly some others, however would not be able to make the drive... if anyone from the eastern PA and surrounding area will be heading out that way...

I don't think it sounds concerning, personally. I've had chinchillas that are very neat and tidy, and will only pee in one spot. I've had some that even avoid peeing on ledges. And then others, will just go anywhere at any time, and don't really care. It just depends on the chin.

When I was using bottles, the super pet ones from petco/petsmart have always started leaking on me. I've found that the Kaytee glass bottles and the Lixit bottles (http://www.amazon.com/Lixit-Glass-Water-Bottle-32-Ounce/dp/B0002Z15ZW) tend to be better, I haven't had any issues with them.
