Thanks kyle. Sometimes shows just have to wait and production has to come into play. Hope to see you guys at the wisconson show

Standard females and more standard females

After last show season we decided to expand our herd. 80 new females will be palced into production by the end of this years show season. These are some of our females that wont be heading to the shows with us. we decided it would be best to just start breeding instead.

    Wisconsin MCBA show October 13

We would like to attend the show this year. Is it a very big show, i mean how many animals are usually there? We like the fact that it is early in the season. Some of our animals will be in breeding by the time Nationals come around.

First year of showing our Mutation lines

These two females are only six months old right now and they weigh a pound and a half already so we are pretty pleased with them so far. Thanks

First year of showing our Mutation lines

Thank you ive waited and waited to get my standards on a level where im making steady higher quality animals so i figured they were good enough to start making some mutations.

First year of showing our Mutation lines

We have bred beige, black velvets, and whites for many years but this is the first year we have a strong enough group to show. Standards qaulity is holding strong so we'll see what the mutations will bring us.

    Extra Dark White Mosaic?

My wilson white line is as pure as can be but my standards are so extra dark and have been bred so strong that way for over twenty years it is hard to get white whites. I do have several white tov's this year that are just great. We plan on going to the ohio empress show and both nationals this...

    Extra Dark White Mosaic?

Have never bred whites that much, mainly standards black velvets and beige. I know my herd is most extra dark standards but even with my light animals i produce these dark mosaics. Off and on i get true snow whites out but i seem to produce these mosaics the most. Any ideas what would produce...

    Color Classification

Cool baby we've made two pink white mosaics this year too. Gives a good new look towards the standards I see all the time. :)

    what color are my babies?

True homo beige have blue rings around there eyes. True hetro to hetro will anyways but there is always the odds of not. Every homo ive seen that is proven to throw all beige and is a true homo always as blue rings. TOV dont always have cuffs but well bred black velvets do and tov usally do.

    chins laying on their side

Sound like stress from the trip. Probably alittle warm and just cooling themselves off. Should be fine in a day all so.

    what color are my babies?

One way to tell is homo beige have a light blue ring around there eyes. Brown velvet young should have dark brown cuffs one there front legs.

Do The Best Quality Kits Come From The First Litters

I agree with mark. It takes years of correct breeding to build enough strong genetics to throw consisent quality young. We judge all of our young at birth but never move crosses till they prove a reason to be seprated. First kids out of well bred stuff will still. Give you agood idea of...

    Young female in heat? Fighting?

It sounds like your animals are getting old and more cagey. Most chinchillas come in heat around 9 months to a year. If they are fighting like you say it might be a good time to seperate them. The tail wagging is just them being aggressive.
