I believe the difference is the bar-spacing. The Critter Nation has bars that are closer together, where the FN has a little bit more of a gap in their bars. Both bar spacing are fine for chinchillas.

Still unlimited food. I would keep a measure of the food. If you have a scale, set the bowl on it, set it to zero, then fill it with food and keep a look-out on the ounces that are eaten each day to make sure his food intake is substantial.

As ridiculous as it is, we have a bunch of old fleece blankets shoved under the furniture that Sigma isn't really allowed to go under since he has an issue with chewing the bottom of the furniture. But he's made a game of tug-o-war with trying to pull the fleece free. It keeps him entertained...
