Do chins mate for life?
How long before they are bonded? Or is it 'love at first sight?'
Will having a chin fixed (nuetered) affect any of this?
Well the plot thickens...
It appears the new boy we got may not be all we bargained for.
As of today, any of the two original chins are OK with the new, just not in the presence of each other.
Also....(and youll probably get were I'm going) the original male chins are trying to mate with the...
Our 'old' boys have been buddies just about since we go them. They ate, sleep and play together. The best. Two peas in a pod..etc..
My wife got a new Chin...a white and gray male. (Chili and Chalupa are also males)
It came time to introduce them. (Still in separate cages, but now in same...
I looked at those, I also thought that with a wood and metal wheel, the weight would be considerable. Especially on that little bearing in the center. (Or is it a bushing?)
I suppose if it works.
How much support did it have around the center where the bearing was? I tried to compensate for this and any material (pan) thinness around the center by having my shaft be several inches in diamete behind the wheel itself.
The area circled in red in this pic is were my stainless shaft is...
Steel would also add weight. Weight that would have to be supported by the cage. There's a lot less steel on a saucer than on a wheel.
I'm not sure, but urine would probably be worse on steel than on aluminum, if that were to ever be an issue.
We'll see. Maybe once I have a few made up...
Wow, that just cant be good for thier little bellies!:err:
I think just about any material would be bad for them; and they will chew just about any material from the looks of it. Many of the "name brand" wheels use aluminum. Some use aluminum and wood. I suppose it no different than...
I didn't tell them shipping was free, I left that block 'blank'. So if someone looked into it they would know or if its automated somehow they may not. I couldn't bring myself to say "free" as it was a lie. (now if they were LOCAL to me, I may have considered a local pickup as FREE. ;)))
I did, but its been a few days and the price only went down a few bucks (If my mention was even considered)
They ask for the total cost, including shipping. So the $159 price plus $50 shipping is what Amazon will match most likely.
I've never seen it for less than $156 AND free shipping.
This is the most popular comment about the cage...the plastic liners. If your chins don't chew plastic, they work just fine. I even have a plastic litter box in my FN.
Curious, what did you pay for the FN? I'm looking for a second one, but missed my opportunity when they were $156 on Amazon.
^^
Call me stingy, or a tight wad, but as much as I love those mazes and boxes, I can't bring myself to purchace a box that my chins will eventually eat. :hair:
I use (and they love) plain boxes. I got a few ULINE double thick cardboard shipping boxes (about 12"Lx 6"W x 6"T) that I folded the...
