Would these be safe...?

I would try to find out what kind of wood they are before getting them.

I wouldn't risk it...you won't know if they've been treated with chemicals during manufacturing or even shipping. Some stuff is mass-treated for bugs and such when it is exported/imported.

Getting destroyed too fast isn't a problem. I mean...it's less than $3 for 130 something of them. I don't think that's too bad. I will probably have to go to Hobby Lobby and look at the actual packaging of the item to figure out what kind of wood it is.

Go on ebay and search wood bird toy parts. You won't get THAT many in a package, but you can often get really good deals by the pound, and a lot of the time they are already colored with a coloring that is completely safe for chins. I used to get all my toy parts off of ebay, thread spools, elephants, stars, hearts, etc., and make up all my own toys. There are also people selling bulk wood on there like manzanita and stuffs. :)
