Will an 8 week old kit be able to escape a cage with bars 7/8" opening?

Will an 8 week old kit be able to escape a cage with bars 7/8" opening? Just wondering if i have to "chin proof" the cage with 1/2" hardware cloth.

Yes, they can squeeze through that with no problem. Definitely chin proof it with the hardware cloth.
