Well...just went to check on the chinnies because Nefertiti has been looking restless all morning like she wants to have some babies! I walked in there now to check the temperature and lo and behold she has a little wet baby under her!

Z-17 is a standard male! Born to Nefertiti(beige) and Tut(standard). Z18 is on the way soon...we'll see what she has! she may have two more in...either way there are still big lumps in her belly. Will update with the new babies and post pictures when they're fluffy!

ETA: This whole "popping out adorable babies that Tab wants to play with" is NOT conducive to studying. I have a midterm on Tues and have failed at studying thus far today and yesterday. Yesterday I was chopping at mulberry wood so I can bake next weekend...now there are new babies I have to try and ignore. *BIG SIGH*

Holy smokes! You're chinnies were all gettin busy at the same time this year! ;) LOL
Congrats on the new little ones!
I was hoping for some out my beige girl today as well. She looks mighty uncomfortable...

And now u may have to delay studying so you can find your camera for pics!!

Welcome to the world X-18!!! Beige male that is REALLY mad that I had to make sure he was breathing...so I made him squeak, lol. Possibly one more coming...

erm...Z-18...not X, rofl!!! I am tired today and I've been studying and staring at this chinchilla for too long! She is pushing and stretching and I felt her belly. There is a third in there ready to come out in a bit.

OK...thoroughly grossed out and creeped out right now. I'm happy about the babies and at the same time I almost puked. She finally had Z-19! It's a healthy little beige girl...she was pushing very oddly when she was trying to have her though and I couldn't figure out why she was contorting herself so oddly. Well...I saw a black thing that I knew wasn't the afterbirth since she'd already passed that after kit #1 and eaten it. I grabbed it and my mind kept making me drop what it was and saying "DON'T TOUCH!!! EEWWWW!!!" but I ignored my better self and picked it up for examination. It's a mummified kit about the size of a quarter. It had to have died VERY early on as it doesn't look like the bones had developed a ton and the eyes were reabsorbed and it basically looks like a dried husk and scary as all get out.

Pictures for those scientific minds like me that don't want to but just HAVE to see it.

Pictures of the healthy live babies to come as soon as they are dry!

Congrats on the babies. I dunno how I'm gonna catch up with you now - those darn slow chins of mine, I'm gonna put a tv in their barn and make them watch chinnie porn on repeat and see if that speeds em up.

Great photos... I always love seeing the oddities, even though it's a bit disturbing.

you'll have plenty of time to catch up, Tiff! I don't have any more girls expecting for a few more months now I'm pretty sure. I can't feel kicks from anyone and a lot of them were just paired up recently.

An exhausted Momma...

Will get better pics and weights when they're all dry...mom is too tired to clean them more at the moment.

Cute babies! I'm going to hang out at your house just so I can play with the babies. Just don't check my bag for any missing babies. :)

:laughitup::laughitup::laughitup:

That sure made me spit out my tea. Thanks for the chuckle. LOL!
