Every year we have this huge country concert a couple hours out of Edmonton in Camrose, Alberta. My brother was planning to go, and a lot of my friends are there tonight. Today a huge storm rolled through with up to 100km/hr (62 mile/hr) winds which knocked down the stage, injuring band members and trapping people underneath. One person is dead, and it is reported another may be too. I've heard reports that up to 100 people are injured, incuding Kevin Costner. Billy Currington was on stage when it happened, and he was also hurt and his bass player was missing for awhile in the rubble.

And a sidenote - my family has been evacuated again from our lakehouse in Kelowna. Fires there are burning out of control and they have relocated again to a hotel.

Oh wow, I hope that your friends and family are ok. I just read about this on AOL. I will keep them in my prayers!

Again, and I'm just saying, AGAIN another reason why you need to move to the US! Sashie, keep me posted. I hope everyone is all right.

Holy cow! We get winds like that here when there are bad storms, I know the damage it can do, and that stage wouldn't have stood a chance. Those poor people who were trapped. I hope no one else is injured.

My brother and my mom were interviewed and are supposed to be on the News tonight but I haven't found the video yet! Once I do I'll post the link up.
