My chins don't seem to chew on their ledges much and Delilah never does.

I was just wondering for those who have less destructive chins how often they need to be replaced?

Ive had my ledges 4 months now and they have not gotten peed on or soiled bad nor chewed.....I sand them down to keep them sanitary and fresh

I tried to replace and re-do my cages once a year. It takes me a whole weekend to do everything.

@ticklechin...did you use regular tile adhesive and grout? I have been toying with this idea but want to be safe.

I used liquid nail to attach the tile to the wood and kitchen smooth grout for the cracks. I have had tile in cages used this way for 10 years.

Tile sounds like an awesome idea! Will have to look into that but I am not handy at all! lol

Dawn, I am curious. What kind of tile did you use and how is it holding up? I know some tile is porous, which I would think you would want to stay away from.

You want ceramic tile for ledges. No marble or granite since they are porous.

I used waterproof wood glue to glue tiles to the wood.
