How do you celebrate?

Keith and I got to talking about this yesterday with his parents, about how different areas have different New Year's Day traditions. Here, we eat pork and sauerkraut for luck, and at my mom's house, money gets passed around for wealth.

How do you celebrate?

Black-eyed peas on New Year's Day for luck.

Last night, the kids and I went to my mom and stepdad's and had snacks and played games (Pit and Catch Phrase).

I grew banging pots outside at midnight. I don't do that anymore though.

We grew up decorating Rose Parade Floats. As a kid it was a blast. Now days I refuse to get up that early.

We have ham, black-eyed peas, collard greens and cornbread. Well, I do. Chris refuses to eat it so he has McDonald's.

Humm, all this time I thought just Daddy and his family were the only ones who did the Black-Eyed Peas.


The kids I babysit with their mom, they all get on the couch under blankets and have Ice Cream while watching Cartoons. Their grandmother gives them 50 dollars to spend that day.
