History of Color Mutations

I would love to find an article, book or something which starts with Chapman and continues through time and the occurence of color mutations. I want to know who "discovered" each of the mutations and a little about the breeders. Other genetic changes through time would be fine as well.

If anyone knows where such a information resource would be, that would be fantastic!
