Hey, I just thought I would introduce myself since I'm new to this forum. I'm Monica and my boyfriend and I are proud chin-parents to Pixel, my male, standard grey chin. Ever since I bought Pixel, I always found useful threads on this forum for when he did something which frightened me or just confused me but I never joined.

I'm currently living in Aberystwyth in Wales as I'm studying here at the university. I bought Pixel last October after much discussion between my boyfriend and I, and now I can't imagine not having him! He's amazing! Pixel has a slight problem with his left eye. It's a hereditary condition he got off his daddy, a genetic mutation which causes his left eye to weep almost constantly. Other than that he is a healthy, happy chin.

By the way this is my little boy. Pixel or Pixi, he doesn't mind :p

He's a little shy...

And likes to sleep in funny positions...

But sometimes the hammock will do!

Hello from us both!

:welcome5:

pixel is a cutie.
just curious....who told you that a weeping eye was a genetic condition? i have a chin that has a watery eye but has been checked by more than one vet and has a clean bill on his teeth. i always just thoght it was a dust sensitivity and it doesnt seem to bother him, mostly just me!

The breeder told me the day I purchased him. Although I got him from a big chain pet store, the breeder for the chins worked in store and she explained that it was nothing to be alarmed about and that Pixels daddy has the same problem. I have taken Pixel to the vets a few times just to make sure everything is ok because sometimes I do worry. That eye is also quite sensitive to his dust which has given him a mild form of conjunctivitis a couple of months ago, to which he was prescribed eye drops. Like you said it doesn't really bother him much at all, he's happy the way he is but sometimes I do worry. The vet seemed to agree that it was a genetic problem.
