Hello Yumiko, welcome to Chins-N-Hedgies. She's so adorable with a nice scientific name.:) Are you into flowers?

Hi,Thank you for the compliment on Tecophililla!
Originally I was not interested in gardening at all, 🤭 but after I had Tecophillia, I started to grow some plants. Some ornamental ones like Tecophilaea, and the others are treats for her.

Interesting, she really seems to enjoy it. Where did you get those plants?

Thanks for sharing those links. So they grow from seeds. Does your chin literally eat the Puya?

Yes, my chin likes to eat Puya, she eats it even when she has low appetite.
Unfortunately Puya grow very slowly, so I feed my chin it only a few times a year.
I also tried tasting Puya, but it was so fibrous that I couldn't chew it!!🤣

Teco was eating Puya-berteroniana.

Sorry for late reply.
Thank you, I want her to break the Guinness record for oldest Chinchilla! 🥳
Well,I have no idea to have more chinchillas...
No problem.

That's fabulous, twenty is already a milestone. Do you know how old is the oldest living chinchilla?

The oldest currently on record lived 29 years and 229 days. Oldest chinchilla ever I have heard some people claim to have older ones though, like into their 30s. I think one problem is most people (unless they are a breeder or bought from a breeder) don't have records to prove age, so there are probably older ones out there they just don't have the paperwork to prove it.

Absolutely agree. I think what's more important now is the fact that they can indeed survive 2 or 3 decades of adorable existence. And a chance to study how they made it?
