Fur question

I reached in to pet Buddy today and when I was done, my hand was covered in fur. As I was petting him his ears were back but he was acting like he liked the scritches. Doing the normal cock the head and close his eyes thing. Any ideas? I did pull out one chunk of fur. Not like tugged out but it came out in a clump. His fur also has been looking rather unkempt. He is still getting normal dust baths about once a week.

Could be a change in weather & humidity, could be priming and pushing fur.

Same food/hay?

Sounds like priming to me. Chins go through primes where they blow out their old coat and grow in a new one. Sometimes the fur will come out in little chunks, and sometimes it looks like a line going across their body, where the fur is growing.

Yes same food and hay. He just didn't do this last year.
