Fur chewing

My chinny has a spot on the back of her neck she has got almost bald and I saw a small black bug in her fur. I know they can't get fleas but I'm worried. Should we make a trip to the vet asap?

I would take her to the vet

Actually chinchillas can get fleas. Most don't because their fur is so dense, but some chins with with thinning fur or bald patches (for various different reasons) can get fleas. I had a rescue come in with fleas, so I know it is possible.
