After 8 months of waiting for a Goldbar out of my pairs, and only getting carriers, I finaly got a little female goldbar kit this morning Whoo hoo!
She looks just like her dad. :dance3:

Oh my goodness! How exciting, she is just gorgeous. Wow, more pictures please? Do you have pictures of Dad? Not often we get to see these beautiful mutations.

Sure I have to go out for the afternoon, but when I get back I will, I have a few other interesting varieties of chinchillas if it helps , I can send some of those pic along too.

Mom doesn't look too happy about pictures of that beautiful kit - congratulations!!

Beautiful baby.
Whats a gold bar?

A goldbar is a very rare mutation of chinchilla. The color is...well...kinda gold looking. I've never seen one in person, but I don't think many people have.

Beautiful kit, and dad is pretty too. Congrats! I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say Keep us updated (with plenty of pictures! LOL)

So pretty! I bet you are checking on that kit every second! Dad looks very...proud. Thank you for sharing.

I was just wondering where you got your goldbar lines from. I only know of a few people who are seriously working on this mutation and I don't think they have sold many, if any, breeding animals to the chinchilla community.

Got mine from a trusted friend who has been working with the mutation for some time. Now that we both have a few pairs... we can work seperately, but together, to improve the mutation...:winkers:

So who is this trusted friend you have connections with? I'm just curious... I mean, it's not a HUGE secret who works seriously with goldbars right now...

Silverrose, I'd be happy to chat with you privately about my chins pedigrees, but not everyone wants to be mentioned publicly and I dont want to take the liberty of naming names online. The person I have gotten my chins from has been more than generous with me and as a mentor to me, and likes their privacy.
