I recently custom made wood shelves, ledges, leaps, etc for all of my cages. I have several chins who INSIST on urinating on them when they are too lazy to walk to the litter pan. Whats the best/safest way to clean/disinfect them?

I use 50/50 vinegar and water and wipe down the pee spots with that. For the really tough stains I use sandpaper.

Ditto on the vinegar water. I leave mine out of the cage to dry (in direct sunlight if possible) I also have a power sander and I sand all my wood down every 3-4 months.

I also use peroxide on shelves. I spray the urine, go on with cleaning the rest of the cage, and when I come back to it it wipes right off.

i use the 50/50 vinegar + water mix.. i find it works but the urine still stains a bit.. im going to try the peroxide and see if it works better
