I have used toys that are in pretty good shape and I'm wondering if I need to clean them before putting them in the cage with a baby (2 months old chin)?

I've scrubbed and cleaned the shelves with 1:1 hot water and white vinegar, disinfected the food bowl and water bottle. Will be scrubbing the cage bars and whatnot tonight.

So really I'm just wondering about the hanging toys. Do I need to clean them, and if so, how?

Thanks!

You can rinse them off and bake them in the oven at maybe 300 to 350 degrees for 20 minutes. That will kill anything in the toys. Although, it depends on the condition of the toys...if they are too chewed up, you may want to throw them away. Wood can be very tricky to sanitize.

OK great, thanks! Most of the toys are pretty new and barely nibbled on.

I'll toss the ones that have been heavily enjoyed. :))
