My garden is organic so I dn't need to worry if anything has been sprayed etc.

in the next few weeks it's going to be time to go out and do some pruning. does anyone know if the prunings from my rose bushes (de-thorned for eveyone's safty) and blackberry bush are chin safe? (proccessed of course)

I've always found this website really helpful
http://www.chinchillas2home.co.uk/safewoods.htm

And it does specify that blackberry wood would be safe. It says rosehip wood, but I think different rose types have hips don't they? I have no clue about that one.

If it were me, I'd be prone to stick to the blackberry if your variety is the thornless type. I'm lazy though! :))

thanks - that's a great site
and yes my blackberry is thornless. I also have a de-torning tool used my florests on roses that I can use to remove hrons easily... two of my roses do produce hips so those seem to be safe. the others are hybryd types that have never prodiced hips, I'll stay clear of them.
