    so cute!

A LOT better. It looks a little pink, almost like his foot got rubbed raw on wire bottoms, just no more bleeding sores. So I'm still keeping him in this cage as a safety precaution for a little longer.

    My Project for the day

I cannot tell which of these two I love most..the koi pond or the butterfly.

    so cute!

So lately Grim, my youngest Chinchilla, has been in a different cage. I wake up and go say good morning to him. Too cute not to share, he's taken to crawling up in his fleece.

    Badly sprained ankle?

I know that in May of last year I missed the curb on my way to work and my ankle went side ways. I had to limp the 15 minute walk to work, and did a 4 hour shift and was moving that weekend. I didn't have an ace bandage so it went uncared for for a long time, took months for it to not cause a...

    I'm here :)

With Kiba it started with just discharge that refused to go away, and I kept telling him that we need to take her. "No, it's ok, she'll be fine, it'll clear up" While in AZ I freaked out because she was spotting blood that smelled of copper pennies, that's when I booked a vet appointment for our...

    I'm here :)

I dunno if anyone has noticed my absence, but I'm here now. Things have been busy since mid-february. I took a train on the 19th of Feb. to Phoenix, AZ. Was quite an interesting trip, spent half of it watching Titanic hahah. On the 25th, my fiancee and I got married in a small ceremony...

    Freaking out!

I chcked all over, Tab said to run your hand all over the inside of the cage, which I did, didn't find any sharp edges or anything. So I'm not sure what caused it. There were no signs of fur anywhere, and they were all cuddling when I found them, they hopped away and I noticed blood on the hidey...

    Freaking out!

May not be an emergency but i'm shaking. Went to feed my chins this morning and saw blood all over the cage. all 3 chins were fine and bouncing around but looked for the source. The small toe on Grims back leg is gone. I cleaned it up but I'm not sure what else to do. Should I move cages?

    Cage question

I believe it's a personal choice. I know a lot of Chin owners leave the middle out, to make the cage appear larger. I have a FF and I prefer the middle piece in, so that the bottom of the cage isn't crowded. Also, My chinnies get more affectionate and like it when I switch up their ledges and such.

    Strange Cat

that's very interesting. RDZ said to crinkle it up, they don't like the feel of it either.

    Strange Cat

I need help because this is getting out of hand: My cat, Kasha, is an indoor cat NEVER goes outside. One of the apartment residents has a black and white cat (I've seen two around) that wander the campus. Both of these like to sit on the freaking AC or by our door and torment my cat through the...

    Chinnie cages

I've been looking at the FN cages, I LOVE the way they look and the fact that both doors open up, a lot easier to clean I would think. But I do love my FF cage nonetheless. But my question is, is there a certain number of years that you should replace your chinchilla's cage?

A question for all Washgington Chin owners!

Thanks hun. The only person we'll know in WA will be about an hour away. We will also be living in an apartment. I'm hoping everything will be ok. We will look into a generator while we are up there. Maybe they will let us stay on the navy base once the power goes out.

A question for all Washgington Chin owners!

With all this snow falling, I've got a question about my chinnies. In fall we will be moving to Everett, WA, which got a decent amount of snow the past few days. Is there anything special I need to do to take care of my chinchillas up there? Will I need to keep them warm, if so, what is the...
