I've been looking at the FN cages, I LOVE the way they look and the fact that both doors open up, a lot easier to clean I would think. But I do love my FF cage nonetheless. But my question is, is there a certain number of years that you should replace your chinchilla's cage?

That's the rule I go with as well - if the cage is still functional and still looks decent and is safe (no ridiculous number of broken bars, no huge amounts of rust), no reason to get a new one.

As long as it is safe, and can't cause any harm to your chin (s), ita fine! (Aling with the other posts above )

i have a FN cage its expensive but really worth it. hard plastic so its a lil difficult for the chins to chew on. The ladders came with fabrics that cover the wire ramps. Its sooo easy to clean too. Its big enough for my 2 boys plus many more :)
