Has This ever Happened to You?

Sweet Pea, My Gray Female Chinchilla, Sadly passed last night. I am BEYOND heartbroken. I had her out yesterday for play time and she was fine, Cuddling with me and trying to eat my toenails :). But When I checked on her this morning, she was dead. It seems she actually choked to death on her...

    Need help in Southern NJ

I have 2 females that have been together for over 3yrs without incident. They seem to have fought last night because this morning My Beige has a head wound. She is not lethargic, she is eating fine. I cleaned it up already. I can clearly not keep these girls together anymore. I just spent all...

    Fight wounds

Ok, so I posted in the Classified section earlier about a friend having to give up her 2 chins.... She lives kind of far from me so we meet up at her friends' house which is about the half way point between us. I get there and the 2 chins are TOGETHER in the bottom half of a FN. Supposedly...

WTF is wrong with kids these days!?

So yesterday I took my daughter and 2 dogs down to the river (maybe a 10 min walk from my house) We live in a trailer park, just moved here in April, so I know the neighbors, but I'm not going out of my way to be friends with them. On our way down to the river a little 9yr boy that I've seen a...

    New Aggression?

I have the SWEETEST Male Chin, about 7 yrs old now. I've never really had an issue with him before. Every now and again he would get a little temper, mostly just a bark here and there. He is in a cage by himself. I have 2 females in a cage in the same room, as well as a pregnant female that is...

    Too Tall?

My husband and I just made a cage and it's 2 ft wide, 2 ft deep and about 7 ft tall. We have ledges placed so they can't fall too far. But... Is it too tall, should it be wider instead?

    Impacted?

Someone just brought me a chinchilla. They said he has not eaten in 24hrs. I did not see any poop in his carrier cage. I can't get him to eat anything. He is REALLY lethargic. They have not been paying much attention to him lately apparently. I am thinking he may have eaten some plastic or...

    Saucer Wheel

I've had this stupid saucer wheel for over a year now and NONE of my chins will use it. Is it just mine, or does anyone else have issues with getting their chins to use the saucers? And if it is just me, any tips on getting mine to use it?
