    Fur Biting

I got her from a craigslist ad. The previous owner had her for 5 years and said she had always done it. She came with a Ferret Nation 182 and came with plenty of toys so she's never been short on space or stuff to do. She's adjusted well to her new environment and my other chin so I'm not too...

    Chinchilla going vacant?

These are characteristics of seizures for chins. If a chin is not responding for periods of time, it's better to have him looked it. This can be caused by epilepsy or heatstroke if your house isn't very cool.

    Fur Biting

So I just recently acquired a 7 year old chin that is a fur biter. She basically looks like she just had a fight with a weed eater. The previous owner is a vet tech said that it's a genetic disorder. Is this true or is there a way to stop her from doing this?

Not letting Chinchilla s out of the cage

I agree that sometimes it's a bit better to wait until the chins are somewhat tame before letting them out. My 5 month old chin is tame and will hop back in her cage on her own and go to sleep when she's done. I just recently acquired a 7 year old chin and let her out for the first time...

    What cage do you use?

I bought a critter nation when I first got my chin but she quickly outgrew it and got the Ferret Nation 182. If you're willing to spend the extra cash, this one is a winner. The 181 will work also for just one.

    chins cant drink tap water?

I've given nothing but tap water to my chins and they are perfectly fine. I think it also has to do with your location and how your tap water is. Some may be heavier on the chemicals than others so you may want to keep that in mind.

    Raisins or no?

I know I'm going against the flow but I will occasionally give my chin a raisin. When I say occasionally, I mean, I may give her half of one once a week because she does love them. Now, for regular treats, I will usually give her some oats or some rose petals. She loves both and they don't...

    Rabbit food?

I have never tried it but I have heard of it causing significant liver problems for others.

Introducing an old chin to a new chin.

A couple of months ago, I bought a chin that is now 5 months old. I recently acquired a 7 year old chin along with a Ferret Nation 182 cage. After a few days I decided to let them out for the same play time. The older chin is close to twice the size of the younger. When the two first ran into...

    Chin pees in wheel

Hello! I have been a chin owner for 2 months now and I have a problem. We bought her a silent spinner wheel after her comfort wheel broke and she loves it. However, she's taken to peeing in it regularly and sometimes running in it before it seeps through the holes causing it to get in her fur...
