Hi
I can’t see a Vet until tomorrow (I’m in the UK) and I’ve heard some of you recommend baby medicine for chinchillas who have bloating.
I need something quick :(
Can someone in the UK recommend anything please?
Or can anyone see if this is suitable...
Hi
I recently visited a place called Cannon Hall Farm in Leeds (UK) and witnessed that they have a chinchilla living in a cage outdoors - that also has no shelves or ledges!
Is there anything that can be done to help the poor guy/girl? Can I report a farm for just one animal? I dont want to go...
Oh right sorry, she seems to not take it at all until i force feed her in her mouth, then after a while she manages to eat some mush off a spoon.
She's constantly digging in her food bowl so I guess she's quite hungry :( she accepts an opened up raisin but it takes her a while to eat it
Hi Everyone
One of my female chinchillas has been constantly drooling for just over a week now and has had two vet visits.
On the first visit she was given Loxicom and I was advised she may have a mouth ulcer but to bring her back in a week for a full dental visit if no improvement.

Does anyone know the dosage for Baytril (injection solution) for a chinchilla?
I would like to ask the vet to change Baytril oral solution to possibly an injection solution and I would just like to know before hand.
Thank you for replying :)

Im trying to feed him four times a day as he cannot feed himself at the moment. I really do not want to lose him :(
Hes doing okay in mood and running around, dustbathing etc just not eating or looking healthly. Hes...
Hi Guys
He had his xrays today and it seems his left incisor was completely broken and fragments of bone were around his jaw area. They also had loads of puss around (now removed). No maloclusion issues either - apparently the mark on his right eye was just an ulcer (gone now :)).
The vets said...
I should probably do that - I don't care if it bruises their ego to be honest.
He is trying to eat - he can only lick up crumbs I have made for him. I also syringe feed him twice a day his pellet mix and oxbow critical care.
thank you for your reply
The vet is an exotic vet, the only thing is the exotic specialist is on maternity leave >:(
I am also holding back - I am very annoyed and upset that it has gotten to this.
Hi Guys
I noticed a week ago a big lump under my boy Jerry's chin. Obviously the first thought was abscess so I took him to the vets.
The vet said to just give him Baytril and to drain it everyday, and he should go back to normal. He weighed 420grams.
So throughout the week I drained the abscess...
