She's only just over a year old

So just a an update, last night she was still making those sounds and then this morning I checked on her and she seemed the same and I picked her up to make sure everything was all ok and put her back in her cage again and she jumped up to her favorite shelf and then go this dazed look and...

Yeah I'm going to try and get her into my regular vet as soon as I can but they don't open until the morning.

So I just had to take one of my chinchillas to an emergency vet because it's late here and no where else is open inlcuding my usual vet. When I phoned ahead they told me I was in luck because their exotic specialist was the vet that night and I could come right in. Whats happened is last night...

So my two chins have a fn 142 and they also get out, have dustbaths etc regularly but they still chew the bars on the cage! It was just annoying to hear at first but now I've been looking closer and in the corner by the ledge where they sleep the coating is actually coming off and theres...

i think its fiber, protien, fat but I could be wrong...not sure on the second one though.

How long have you had Smokey?? If you have a kitten and you're allergic to him/her then you might want to give it some time to make sure you're not also allergic to chins. You don't want to get a second one just to have to give both away... Anyways good luck with you're search and I hope...

aww they are super cute, I love their names!! Just a sugestion for a new bowl, you can get a ceramic one but my girls started tipping theirs after a while and dragging it around so I got a different bowl where theres a ring that attaches to your cage with washers/wingnut and then the bowl sits...

haha what a crazy lil guy. At least you caught it before he'd been ot of water for too long. oh by the way I also have the glass super pet water bottle so far it's worked great, as the water level gets lower it tends to drip a bit but it never soaks my fleece; at most its just slightly damp in...
