Hi my name is lisa and im new to taking care of my chin her name is chinche
i want to get risd of the plastic shelves in my cage and replace with wood but what kind of wood any ideas let me know tyhanks

Pine shelves are good, and I've also heard about poplar as well. You need to make sure it's kiln dried wood.

I know aspen bedding is safe....but I'm not sure about aspen as a shelving wood. Someone else would have to comment on that.

Cedar bedding is not safe, so I wouldn't use it for shelving.

Kiln dried and untreated pine or poplar. In the Housing and Supplies thread there is a DIY section where it will tell you everything you need and how to make them. Good luck and can't wait to see pictures of your chin!
