Two mothers

We have two mothers that both gave birth on the same day. One had two babies and the other one had one. There are 3 other chins in the house.Unfortuneately the single baby was attacked and killed. Does anyone have experience with multiple mothers or how to keep peace in the house in general?

Yes, lots of people have experience with multiple mothers. I have 50 or 60 females in breeding in the same room. They don't attack their offspring because of it.

There had to be something else going on here. Are the females housed in the same cage in a colony setting?

Are they all in the same cage?

I have a ton of females, and no issues with babies being attacked!

Perhaps it was chewed up during it's birth, sometimes that happens if they're sorta stuck.
