Some of you may have seen my other thread for the posting on Animal Rescue Transports. I just thought that I would start posting all of the animals that I have personally been involved with here (mostly dogs, but some cats too). This will be mostly pictures and little stories that go along with them. Enjoy!!

The first pups I ever transported were 3 little guys that I took in to temporarily foster while I found another rescue for them to go to. This was in January of 2008. Excuse the pup in the crate, she's an entirely different...horrible, dramatic, and long story. Anyways, these three little guys found homes pretty fast.

My March 9, 2009 emergency transport.

She was at the vet clinic I work at and was found as a stray full of milk, but no puppies.

On March 9, 2009 I was a bit bummed out at work that morning...I basically told her goodbye because I hadn't heard back from any of the rescues that I wrote to during the weekend. BUT Kathy from K.A.R.E in MN wrote me back and said she would take her, literally hours before she was scheduled to be put down.
Her favorite spot at her foster home - the couch. She is finally all dried up (from the milk).

Kathy named her Pixie...Pixie was adopted by a young couple with a 2 year old son a few weeks after being in her foster home =) The little boy hangs all over her as she licks his face.

The next 27...yes...that's right...TWENTY-SEVEN dogs were put on the largest transport that Kelly has ever done. There were so many of us who helped out with this one.

It started with a dog named "Honey" and her 4 newborn babies. They came from TN and went to MN. Honey was kept on a 4 ft long chain her entire life. All she did was breed and breed. All of her babies were used as fighting dogs - until her recent litter when she was rescued. All of Honey's puppies have been adopted. She isn't up for adoption just yet. She has some recovering to do.

Excuse this HIDEOUS cage...but these are Honey's babies right before they were ready to be adopted.

Then we have Mowgli...
Mowgli was added to the transport in Indy, traveled through IL (where he stayed the night) and then continued on his journey to WI and ended in MN. He has not been adopted yet.

Here's Duff!! He got to ride with Arron and me on the trip.
He is such a great boy. Duff was 9 months old here and quite the snuggle bug! He traveled from Tusla, OK through MO, to to IL (where he spent the night) and continued on to WI - ending in MN. Duff was an absolute mess...he has Demodex Mange on top of a whole slew of other infections all over his body...it didn't stop my husband from curling up in a ball with him in the front seat though. His skin literally looked like elephant skin and he hardly had any hair.
He has been adopted =)

Me with Duff

And that ends that transport! Almost all of the dogs have been adopted...just a few adults (of course) are left.

I recently did two more transports.
One was just small and done by me.

I transported a kitten to her new home on June 12, 2009.
Here she is...they named her Bubbles

And now for my most recent transport.
There was one dog and 8 kittens on this one. 3 kittens have already been adopted...I have 5 pictures of the rest that are up for adoption (as well as the dog).

I'll start with the kittens:

And now, here is Gulliver's story:

Hi, I'm Gulliver!

I was happily living my life with a loving family, then one day I heard my dad say he had lost his job. He seemed very sad. Then a few days later, my dad put my leash on, and the kids started crying and saying good bye to me. He took me for a ride in the car and explained that since he lost his job, he couldn't afford to keep me any longer. He dropped me off at this shelter, but I don't think he realized that he took me to what they call a "high kill shelter"! This crazy place didn't even put me on the list of adoptable dogs! I was on the list of dogs that could only be saved by a rescue. What's up with that? I'm a nice boy, how come I couldn't be adopted?

Lucky for me, someone at MARS heard about my plight. They contacted the local shelter and rescuers right away. I was supposed to be put to sleep on Monday, June 8th. MARS sent someone to pick me up, and there was a big scare. They couldn't find me! My rescuer almost thought they had made a mistake and didn't mark me down on the "saved" list. Fortunately my blue eyes stood out, and they found me. I'm safe now, and am getting some vet work done. I'm going to be arriving in rescue this weekend! Yay! Road trip! I've decided travel is a good thing, and that's why I picked the name Gulliver. I need to get far away from this place!

I'll bet you've never seen a boxer boy with blue eyes before! Yes, indeed, I have blue eyes. People think I'm probably 3/4 boxer and 1/4 some other breed, and that's where I got my blue eyes. I'm a very friendly boy and am hoping to get a second chance at life.

WoW thats really amazing that you have helped all those animals out. I wish that i was able to help animals out like that. You and your husband are truley amazing people. No kidding around

:cute: Thanks. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have animals in my life. I feel like my life is completely made up of anything and everything animal related. I'm sure some people find that totally boring, but I absolutely love every minute of it.
