Sudden change in schedule?

Hello!

I'm not overly worried about this as such, just a little curious.

Both of our chinchillas just dramatically changed their daily schedules. They used to sleep from say 7:00am-5:00pm with a little bit of activity in the late afternoon. Now they sleep more intermittently and are wide awake when I get home from work. Right now they're both sleeping whereas 6 weeks ago they both would have been wide awake and running around.

The only change is an adjustment in the thermostat for winter where it's colder during the day while we're out and warmer at night instead of the steady temperature of summer/spring/fall.

Anyone else see this?

My chin went through a similar thing and I got worried that he wasn't sleeping enough, perhaps they do change their schedules according to the the season? I notice my chin comes out of his snuggle cube earlier, especially when I get home and the central heating comes on - my partner thought he was just cold, but I sincerely doubt that!

I have no idea, I'm sure someone one here will be able to explain it!
