Soft Woods??

My grandma has 2 of my chinchillas and she sent someone to get bedding for her and they came back with "soft wood, fine shredded, kiln dried wood." Is that safe?? It doesn't say what exactly the wood is.

Hm, do you happen to have a pic? Or have you seen it on any pet store shelf? I know that kiln dried pine is safe, if a little smelly, and I would guess that "soft wood" is probably pine, but I could be incorrect.

If it says it is simply "softwood pine" then it is safe....There is a "softwood bedding mixed with pine" sold at petco which also has cedar in it.
