Have a chin with soft poop. Have read all the threads here. She is eating and drinking and active.

I think it is from treats. I have a probiotic that I will give and will take pellets out.

She always refuses to eat shreddies. So could not try that.

I read about the Pet Pectillin here. If I need to use that what would the dose be?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Of course if I see no improvement we will be off to the vet.

I give 3ml twice a day for a couple of days, as long as it was food/stress related it cleared it right up. If it does not after a couple of days the chin goes to the vet.

Thank you for the speedy reply Dawn. Will get the pectillin on my way home from work.

So I have to catch chin, burrito and squirt? OK. I am pretty sure it is from treats but of course will go to vet if needed.

I guess this will be a burrito night. Have another with very dry back feet that will have to be burritoed. Using bag balm tonight.

Oh, I hope so. The one that I have to bagbalm is a pee shooter. LOL
I'll follow up on both accounts on Monday.

Thank you!

What I did for my guy... He loves the taste of the baby gas drops, so I put some of that on the tip of the syringe, and just squirted the pectillin in his mouth. heehee

I am proceeding slowly because they both seem to be improving based on me pulling their pellets and giving hay only. I also removed a new soft pumice chew.
Their poops look more normal already.

I have decided to move them into a FN142 as this made me realize how difficult it is to clean the cage they came with when I rescued them. I expedited the shipping and bought all new shelves. I want to move them over on Friday and then clean all the old items or just toss them.

They deserve the best conditions, of course.

poop update: more formed, not perfect yet. Now I don't want them to get constipated so will slowly introduce limited amounts of pellets starting tomorrow.

Next question... Should I not go back to free feeding pellets. I was giving hay but free feeding unlimited amount of Oxbow pellets. Should I continue to feed mostly hay and less pellets than I was giving?

Faye, I always free feed and tend to be over generous with the hay. However, I do what you do if I have any loose stool and that is pull the pellets for a couple of days and give lots of hay. I slowly introduce the pellets once the stool is looking better. Until it looks perfect, give smaller amounts of pellets. Shreddies tend to help...darn non-shreddie eaters! LOL good luck

Edit: do a search on here about charcoal. I've never tried it but others have.

Brenda, thank you so much. Will check on charcoal. Will wait till poop more normal.

Faith and Serena are perfect poopers right now. No worries there.

Ahhh the pleasure of normal poop.

Jesh, they really ruined all their ledges. I expedited shipping on an FN142 and they are in a nice new clean cage with new ledges. It took me 7 hours from start to finish to assemble everything but it was easier for me to just transfer them from the horrible to clean cage that they came in when I got them.

I am giving medium amount of pellets still just to keep everything firm.
