Chinchilla slave
I am sure many of you have seen photos on the web of animals standing watch over a stricken companion who had been hit by a car or some such thing. Well, today, I actually saw it..wish I could have taken a photo.
Was driving out of a parking lot today and saw a couple cars ahead of me slow down for a duck crossing the road..did not think much of it because it was in the country, and there was a pond nearby.
Then when I got up I saw that another duck had been hit by a car, and there were about 6 ducks surrounding it..just standing there. Some were prodding it with their beaks, others just standing there.
Was a sad sight. I had considered stopping to try to move the dead one off the road, but was afraid the others would not let me. But the sight stuck with me.
