Hi all. I may be picking up another FN142 that I found on Craigslist. I would like to divide it into two cages. I plan on buying the Bass pans. My question is: can I just put a Bass pan without cut out on the shelf grid that has a cut out? Will that corner of the pan dip down if left unsupported? Or do I need to make some sort of support?

Sorry if this is a silly question or doesn't make sense! I keep looking at my current FN to try and visualize how it would be divided, but it just doesn't seem like it would be very sturdy!

I am currently only using the top half of my FN. I have a bass pan without a cut out on top of the wire level with a cut out and it works just fine. I haven't noticed any dipping down at all

I have 2 3-level FNs split into single cages- using the full Bass pan is fine, no support needed.

Not a silly question at all- better safe than sorry!
