What size pvc pipe is needed for the fleece tubes?

My girls have a cardboard one but it seems one of the likes to pee on it, which doesn't do much for the cardboard I'm afraid. I'm thinking about switching them to PVC. =)

Yes, but they are just cut in half. Do you know of anyone that works in construction? Often the pieces you need are just thrown away at construction sites!
My Dad up in MT is saving me whatever he comes across, and just making a trip up next year to deliver!

Sadly, I don't know of anyone in construction. My dad used to be a construction worker though, so he can cut them for me and go buy the one I need.

You can always look on Craigslist for materials too. I bought a 12 foot piece for $10 on there last year.

There isn't an area close enough to me on Craiglists. They are all over an hour drive and with a V8, wouldn't be worth it in the end.

i was reading a similar blog and noticed that someone had posted that they used a 6" metal coffee can. So my kids and i thought we would give it a shot at making the fleece tube our selves. It came out great and my family and I had a great time building it. Here are some pics, I hope it helps.

I've definitely gone the coffee can/tall skinny cookie tin method before. Cut out the bottom with a can opener, wrap it and fleece and mount it. Just takes a few minutes, and they love it. And, if you don't drink canned coffee, you can pick them up at a thrift store for exceptionally reasonable. I think I got my last one for a dime.
