A 32-year-old Madison Township resident who has been missing for several days may be in New York, according to police.
Larry J. Fults, of Parkview Drive, has been missing since Aug. 5.
Fults’ vehicle was found abandoned on the New York State Thruway around 3 a.m. Sunday, according to a media release from New York State Police.
Witnesses reported seeing Fults in the area of Lafayette, N.Y., between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Monday. At the time, he reportedly was wearing a white V-neck T-shirt, tan shorts and no shoes, according to the New York statement.
Fults was last seen in Ohio on Aug. 5 at his place of employment in Chardon, according to Madison Township Police Detective Dan Boerner.
Fults was reported missing on Monday by his wife after he failed to show up for work. The couple had recently separated.
“For him, this is unusual,” Boerner said.
At this time, Fults is not believed to be facing any outstanding criminal charges in the area, the detective said.
Fults’ personal cell phone remained at his residence and his work cell phone had been left at work, Boerner said.
Authorities have not learned of any connection or reason that Fults would be in New York. He is known to have family and friends in the Madison area, however.“We’re just concerned for his safety and well-being, and that’s the biggest push is just to make sure he’s OK,” Boerner said.
Fults is described as being a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, 160 pounds and 5 feet, 10 inches, tall.
